Langham Creek High School junior Tyrus Rathan-Mayes was named District 16-6A boys’ basketball Most Valuable Player of the Year.

March 21, 2024—District 16-6A boys’ basketball coaches released the 2023-2024 All-District 16-6A Boys’ Basketball team, following the conclusion of each team’s season in the UIL playoffs.

Langham Creek High School junior Tyrus Rathan-Mayes was named the district’s Most Valuable Player for the 2023-2024 season.

Cypress Springs High School senior Stoney Hadnot was named District 16-6A boys’ basketball Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.

Cypress Falls and Cypress Springs high schools each earned two district distinctions.  Cypress Springs senior Stoney Hadnot was named Offensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year while sophomore Landon Veal was named Newcomer of the year. Cypress Falls High School senior Daylon Porter was named Defensive Player of the Year and Head Coach Richard Flores was named Coach of the Year for the third consecutive year.

Cypress Springs High School sophomore Landon Veal was named District 16-6A boys’ basketball Newcomer of the Year.

Cypress Falls High School senior Daylon Porter was named District 16-6A boys’ basketball Defensive Player of the Year.
